Issues

I think I have issues.  I am in love with lists.  All day long I have been thinking of ideas for today's blog and what I came up with was a list.  But Wednesday was a list of sorts, and well, who wants to read a blog full of lists?  Not me!

Not only do I love lists, but really any and all things that are associated with organization.  Labels...LOVE THEM.  It is a good thing I don't own a label maker.  I would label everything.  Dividers for notebooks, file cabinets, labeled files, folders, small dividers in my drawers, I could go on forever!  I get excited just talking about them.  One day in Dallas, Jason came home with new labels for our file cabinet printed out on gorgeous new labels.  It was the greatest day ever.  I also love post its and all post it related products.  Each year when my mom does our taxes (she is a CPA) she gives them back to me and has little sticky notes to indicate where we should sign.  I know where to sign, I just love the sticky notes.

Like I said, I have issues.

But I am not the only one.  I won't name any names, but a certain 30 year old, handsome man that I live with and is the father of my children has the same disease I do.  Love of organization and orderliness is what we call it.  OCD is what everyone else calls it.  This man I am not naming has a closet that is organized by color and type of clothing.  He also has a very specific system for socks, t-shirts and underwear I won't get into in order to respect his privacy.  He has also been known to spend an entire day re-organizing the kitchen cabinets because he thought of a more efficient way for the plates to be stacked, or a more logical way to store my millions of bowls (another obsession for another day).

The examples of our craziness could go on for days and days.  I could make a list, but that would just put me right back where I started....a compulsive list maker.  So I will avoid lists for today, and by avoid lists I mean avoid writing about lists, sort of.

ps. I am now going to cross off  #5 (write blog) of my list of things to do today!  Go me!

  1. I am right there with you, Tracy!! I really think that your way is much better than the people who are not organized enough to remember what they are supposed to do each day. My problem right now is that I keep repeating the lists on different paper--notebook, calendar, small papers next to my calendar, sticky notes on my computer!! I keep telling myself that after the move in October things will get better, but I know I will be a list maker until I get to the point that I don't know which way to hold the pen!!

  2. Lol. Love it! I am exactly the same way! I am a closet office depot shopaholic! I even bought these stamps one time that said things like..paid, file, copy...so that I could have another level of orderliness. Love post its too. I am just an office supply junkie really. However a person I know that I won't name who lives with me and is the father of my son is the exact opposite! So it makes for an interesting house!
